MSEA advocates with the state legislature on behalf of law enforcement, has professional staff for negotiations, internal disciplinary matters, arbitrations, and responds to use of force incidents and also provides training. MSEA also offers advocacy on a national level with a dedicated lobbyist in Washington D.C with our affiliate AFSCME. MSEA staff is one phone call away to help with your needs and to help assist in navigating the lines between criminal and labor laws. MSEA represents Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officers, Michigan State Police Capitol Police, Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, and more. When your department is represented by MSEA we are committed to representing you to the fullest extent possible and advocating for you and your families. During contract negotiations, a MSEA staff member will be assigned to be at the table with you and your bargaining team, draft proposals, and assist in research prior to negotiations. MSEA also has a dedicated professional labor relations staff who will represent you in grievance conferences and arbitrations.
