If your classification with the State of Michigan is not currently represented by a Union: 

If you work for the State of Michigan as a NERE employee within the Y23 classification list (including but not limited to: analyst, specialist, accountant, auditor, buyer, communications, examiner, developer, or coordinator) you may be eligible to join MSEA and receive the benefits of membership and contract protections outside of Civil Service Rules and Regulations. To get the benefits, protections and resources available to MSEA members, there is one step you must complete to join the Union:

Speak with a representative at MI HR Self-Service by dialing 877-766-6447

Fast, Secure and Instant. Between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, state employees can be connected with a live Michigan HR specialist. You will need your social security or employee identification number. Tell the representative you wish to Authorize Dues Deduction EA01.

Visit the HR Self-Service Online Portal
In the event that speaking with a live representative is not an option, you may go online at:
https://miloginworker.michigan.gov/mcsc/lawson/portal/

After logging in, go to the search bar located in the upper right-hand corner and type DUES. Where you see “opt into one of the deduction codes listed below”, select EA01

On the next screen, click AUTHORIZE

Also, any deduction changes, including dues, cannot be made Sunday through Wednesday of the first week of each pay period. Deductions can be changed by calling 877-766-6447 and speaking to a live HR Self-Service representative.
