In 2026 MSEA launched the Dignity and Respect Campaign for Transportation Workers for our members working within the Michigan Department of Transportation. Our members are not receiving the dignity and respect they deserve for the service they provide to the citizens of the State of Michigan, whether it be the general public, the employer, elected politicians of fellow workers, enough is enough. Far too often these dedicated public servants get taken for granted. Weather you are a Transportation Maintenance Worker, Steeplejack, Bridge Service Representative, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic you deserve to be recognized for your unwavering dedication and deserve proper wages and benefits.

The goal for this campaign is to address all transportation worker's concerns. We would like at least one person from each work location to join in the campaign to help guide and spread information regarding the campaign, updates, meetings, grievances, and act as a contact point for others. If you are interested in participating in the campaign, getting involved at any level, or would like more information about the dignity and respect campaign please contact Erik Bailey at ebailey@msea.org, President Jacob VanSickle at jvansickle@msea.org, or give our offices a call at 517-394-5900.
